“These two paintings are evocative of Asifa’s spirit.  The first highlights the joy of a girl’s movement. The second relates to the widely shared practice of flying kites by young people throughout South Asia. The colors are very emblematic of the vivid palette of India. I find them uplifting and suggestive of a way of life  that enshrines tolerance, compassion and mutual understanding between people. These were all values that my dad cherished.”
