Choreography and performance: Gabrielle Lamb
Music: "O Rubor Sanguinis" by Hildegard of Bingen, performed by Brigitte Lesne Artist's

Note: To honor the memory of Asifa I created a short dance to "O Rubor Sanguinis", a chant by Hildegard von Bingen. Hildegard (1098-1179) was a visionary German nun who founded her own convent and was a self-educated composer, mystical theologian, and author of texts about botany and medicine. Undeterred by poor health, misogyny, or the political turmoil of the Dark Ages, she created a safe space for women’s intellectual pursuits and advanced musicianship.

Translation: O ruby blood which flowed from on high where divinity touched. You are a flower that the winter of the serpent's breath can never injure.
