Hanky of Tears
Navina Haidar

“When I heard about Asifa’s murder I was overwhelmed with tears of anger, shame and sorrow. I decided to make a series of painted handkerchiefs to capture them - Hanky of Tears. The last one is called Handkerchief for a Deity and the eyes are referencing the style of the Shrinathji images of Nathdwara and Kishangarh. In this piece I try to evoke what the deity in the temple witnessed.”
